Kim Jackson Ryan is a Senior Human Systems Engineer at Draper in Cambridge, MA. She received her S.B. in Aerospace Engineering with Information Technology and her M.S. in Aerospace Engineering both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she worked on developing intuitive collision avoidance methods for smartphone-based control of a small unmanned aerial vehicle. As part of the User Experience and Performance group at Draper, her work focuses on human factors assessment of mission-critical systems and design of intuitive operator interfaces for mission planning and command and control applications. She is currently passionate about developing novel ways for humans to interact with algorithms and autonomous systems to enable effective collaboration and improve mission performance.
